VILLAGE Shungopavi Village is the “Mother Village” of the Hopi people. When the Hopi first came to settle on the Mesas, it was Shungopavi that was the original village. Originally they began to settle at the bottom of the mesa and later migrated to live on top of the mesa where they have lived for close to a thousand years. Here we will share with you more of who we are as a people.
